Felicitation Program
On the 20th of March 2008, a day before the Birth Day Puja, a program was held to felicitate Shri Mataji on Her Birthday.
The program began with a dance choreography by NGO NOIDA children depicting the life of Shri Mataji right from Her birth to the spread of Sahaja Yoga by Her.
Shri Mataji, along with Sir C.P., arrived on the stage that had been very recently constructed in the Puja premises.
Many felicitation messages had been received from around the world on this pious occasion. These were from leaders from various spheres including political as well as religious leaders. Messages were read out, from amongst others, of those of the President of India and the President of the USA. It was informed that Mayors of many cities had recently declared 21st March as Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi day- Houston, Texas being amongst them.
Sahaja Yogis from around the world offered their prayers on this auspicious celebration. Gregoire noted that Shri Mataji's birth date this year was an extra ordinary combination of the Indian festival of Holi, Good Friday and the proximity of Easter. Majid said that 21st March is the beginning of spring not just for nature but for humanity as well. A poet compared the elements with Shri Mataji's love and described in his poem how Shri Adishakti is beyond comparision. Romil ji spoke on the importance of the centre- Chhindwara being at the centre of India. He noted that this divine birth could have taken place only in the centre. Sir C.P. offered his felicitations to Shri Mataji. He said that we are all one. There is only one God and so his children should be one.
After the felicitation messages noted Indian musician Ghulam Mustafa Khan and his group performed Birthday songs and classical Indian music and bhajans. Sahaja Yogis and Yoginis holding individual country name placards in their hands walked in front of Shri Mataji to offer pranams and felicitations to Shri Mataji from the countries they were representing.
Shri Mataji then departed to 'Nirmal Sthaan'- the abode constructed for Her in the Puja premises.
At midnight a cake was cut in Nirmal Sthaan. Firecrackers sounded as the date turned to 21st March and announced this to the huge collectivity gathered for the Puja.
