Puja Preparations - Day 3

Brilliant sunshine and a crystal blue sky greet us on Day 3 of the camp preparation. The main structures of the camp are now in place, gleaming ivory palaces waiting to be decorated and filled and gradually the attention shifts to the important essential services.

Our wonderful, industrious and good humoured teams of host country workers hammer, saw, chisel and screw wood into shapes and structures that will eventually ensure that we can wash, clean and maintain the camp in a typically Sahaj manner. It is a joy to see, and something that never fails to amaze, no matter how many times you watch it happen.

The showers, kitchen and catering material arrive and quietly sit awaiting installation and personnel. And as the day moves on, yet more equipment arrives to serve our small village. Satellite systems for the video broadcasts, sound and lighting systems and computer equipment that would not look out of place in a premier concert hall control room.

And then, slowly at first, but with gathering pace, we see the decoration start to appear; those personal and loving touches that say - this is a Sahaj place - welcome!
