On the auspicious occasion of India Independence Day yogis had the blessing of being in the presence of Shri Mataji to celebrate.

In the afternoon more than 60 yogis assembled at the entrance of Mother's villa, practicing hymns and bhajans, to offer at Her lotus feet. The melody of Vande Mataram resounded inside and outside Mother's house.

At about 7 pm yogis entered Shri Mataji's room. After aarti and a short ceremony, the music group started singing Vande Mataram, and Jana Gana Mana. Everybody stood and followed the anthem with great devotion, respect and peaceful joy.

Sir CP told us about the struggle that Shri Mataji and Her family fought for the freedom of their country, and about that day in 1947, just after their marriage, when the flag of India was hoisted on all public places in India. He remembered also the two great figures of Gandhiji and Jawaharlal Nehru.

Aldo thanked Mother for opening the doors of Her house to us in such an auspicious day, which not only marks the liberation of the great Country of India, but in some western countries is also celebrated as the day when Virgin Mary ascended to Heaven, both of which events carry our hearts and minds to our Divine Mother.

After, all the yogis offered flowers, gifts and bowed at the Lotus Feet of Mother, while the musicians sang bhajans. Mother looked at the flow of all the devoted yogis with deep, benevolent and loving eyes. Shri Mataji cut a cake which was then distributed as prasaad to all.

Thank You Shri Mataji for having blessed us on this auspicious day.
